The ThinkFirst South Carolina Low Country Program covers Charleston, Dorchester,
Berkeley and Colleton counties primarily. Our primary emphasis is on three educational
programs geared toward teenagers and young adults, youth grades 4-8 and children
in grades K-3. This Chapter was appointed in 1999 as the SC state chapter. Our
role as state chapter is to help create, train and collaborate with new and existing
chapters through out South Carolina.
We’ve implemented the ThinkFirst for Kids curriculum into over 36 public elementary
schools and 2 private schools. We also participate in several community events through
out the tri-county area with info booths, safety checkpoints, and presentations.
We coordinate a lot of our activities with the local SafeKids program and the Children’s
Hospital at Medical University of South Carolina.
